Travels to Glastonbury

Last week I traveled to Glastonbury for my mum's birthday and we were reminded about what a significant and spiritual place it has been for centuries. It is said to be the Isle of Avalon where King Arthur died, Jesus supposedly came there as a boy, there are sacred spring waters and it has been a place of pilgrimage for people around the world. It really does feel magic. Here are four places to visit if you head there:

The Abbey

Snowdrops line the gardens as you walk around this semi-ruined abbey where King Arthur is supposedly buried.

Chalice Well

This is such a spiritual place and open to any beliefs. Natural springs run through the well which you are welcome to walk through.

Shop & Food

The shops are so interesting, full of tarot cards, magic potions and crystals. A child's dream. We ate in the Queen of Cups with fresh middle eastern food.

Murmuration

By Far the most magical part of the day was seeing thousands of starlings take to the sky at Shapwick Heath just before sunset. Catch them before hey head off in early March.

So there you have it, my future as a travel guide is set! Hope you enjoyed this blog post and do let me know if you make it to beautiful Glastonbury, or if you go regularly already is there anywhere I missed? Next month I can share some of my fave Easter walks! Have a fantastic week ahead! x
